The BKL Foundation
Set up in 2019, The BKL Foundation is responsible for deciding how we use a dedicated portion of BKL's profit (currently 1%) to benefit charitable causes.

SCOPE
The Foundation primarily supports good causes local to the BKL office (Barnet, North London). It also supports some national UK charities and is open to donating to UK charities involved in providing overseas aid.
The specific policies previously agreed by the trustees are:
- No donations to animal charities
No donations to religious charities
No donations to charities working mainly overseas - Local charities are to be preferred, where they support a wide cross-section of the community
- No donations over £10,000
- No commitments for more than one year but donations can be made to the same charities in second and subsequent years
The Foundation also matches funds up to £500 raised by BKL employees for charity through sponsorships or events. (When you sponsor a colleague, don’t forget to identify yourself as a BKL employee to help with this process.)
OUR GOAL
We want to take pride in The BKL Foundation’s work, and make the most of its relationships with charities, by:
- Promoting the charities we support via our website, social media and video messages
- Encouraging them to publicise our support and the Foundation if they’re comfortable doing so
- Inviting them to join us (in person or virtually) to tell the whole firm about how our donation is helping them to make a difference
- Exploring volunteering opportunities
